The Women's and Gender Studies Department at Simmons College is proud to present Bread & Roses 2016, Reimagining the Workplace: Creating Space for Intersectional Activism. This event aims to showcase the accomplishments of Simmons students in relation to the field of WGST and invites participants to critically think about intersectional approaches to feminist scholarship, activism, and work. Our evening includes student presentations, a zine library curated by Dawn Strahura from the Simmons Library, a photography exhibition featuring the work of Simmons undergraduate Oliver Pover, and dinner provided by the WGST department (vegetarian option available), hosted by Simmons alumna Becca Santos, creator of the queer femme fashion blog FEMMEVIOLET (femmeviolet.com).
Tickets for the event are free, but we encourage you to secure yours ASAP. Seats will fill up fast, as this is a night of food, fun, and critical feminist thought and action not to be missed!
We also encourage you to visit and follow the WGST department's Facebook page for other WGST events and news: https://www.facebook.com/wgst.simmons. For any questions/concerns about the event, please contact strain@simmons.edu.
